"Simple Microfluidics"
ABSTRACT:
My lab is interested in effects of space and spatial structure on the dynamics of complex networks. We have investigated these effects on networks of reactions, such as in blood coagulation, on networks of interacting cells in microbial communities, and on bheavior of single cells in confined environments. This research requires development of new microfluidic tools. This talk will describe recent work-in-progress to develop SlipChip-based microfluidic systems with the balance of performance and robustness to enable their use for science in research laboratories, and for health care in resource-limited settings. Applications to digital (single object) analyses will be discussed.
