Henry
Samueli School of Engineering and Applied Science
Giving to UCLA Engineering
In light of decreasing state support
and growing competition from other universities for
exceptional students and world-class faculty, the School
has launched the Enhancing
Engineering Excellence (E3) initiative that targets
four key areas of support.
Your Gift Matters
All gifts to the UCLA Henry Samueli School of Engineering and
Applied Science, no matter their size, help the School maintain
and strengthen its international reputation for excellence in
engineering education and research, as well as its impact in the
community.
Decline in State Funding
The continued decline in state funding means the School must increasingly
rely on unrestricted gifts from alumni and friends. UCLA receives
only 23 percent of its operating budget from the state of California.
Make an Immediate Impact
Many alumni and friends choose to make an unrestricted gift to
the Engineering Annual Fund, which
provides the Dean with discretionary funds to meet immediate needs.
Matching Gifts
You can double, or even triple the value of your gift to the School
with a matching gift from your company. Not sure if your company
has a matching gift program? Find out here! If your company matches
charitable contributions, please complete and mail a matching
gift form.
Tax Benefits
Gifts to UCLA Engineering not only benefit the School and its
students and faculty, they benefit the donor as well. Your charitable
gift to the School is tax deductible up to 50 percent of your
adjusted gross income.
Making a Gift
You can make a gift to support UCLA Engineering online,
by mail or by calling the Office of External Affairs at 310/206-0678.
