The Alumni Fund for Student Projects, an endowed
funding source for extracurricular student engineering groups,
was established in 1995 by engineering alumni and friends. The
Fund provides UCLA engineering student organizations with annual
grants, and the Engineering Alumni Association welcomes your organization’s
application for the 2007-08 funding cycle.
Applying for a Grant
All grant requests will be reviewed by members of the Engineering
Alumni Association’s Alumni-Student Networking Committee.
Please see the grant guidelines
for eligibility requirements and additional information on the
Alumni Fund for Student Projects before submitting your grant
request.
To apply for a grant from the Alumni Fund for
Student Projects, please complete a Grant
Request Form. Applications for the 2007-08 academic year are
due no later than 4:30 p.m. on Friday, October 19, 2007.
The grants will be awarded by December.
If Your Organization Receives Funding
Requests for reimbursement must be submitted to your organization’s
department. To submit a request, please complete LVO form and
attach your original receipt(s). Reimbursement requests must be
submitted by June 1, 2008. Any remaining funds will not be available
to your organization after June 30, 2008.
As your project progresses, we encourage your
group to send brief project updates and requests for technical
assistance and feedback from our alumni via e-mail. We also encourage
you to hold one or more project review sessions with alumni. Just
a few minutes spent with UCLA engineering alumni can pay big dividends
for your project.
Grant recipients must be prepared to submit a
report no later than May 30, 2008 that includes
- A detailed explanation of how the money was
used;
- A review of progress made during the school
year;
- Results from any competition(s);
- A list of project participants; and
- A summary of the faculty member(s)’ and/or
advisor(s)’ involvement with the group.
