Snapshots from the School's history

Bryan Posner BS '02: One of my greatest adventures took place during my senior year while working on the Mechanical Engineering Society robotica project. Our club had been approached by The Learning Channel to participate in a "Battlebots" spin off TV show. We decided this was just what the students needed and set off to build what would become "The Boelter Beast."

After weeks of effort finding sponsors, designing, building, testing, and of course trying to keep up with our schoolwork we had our bot. Although we didn't win the competition, we learned a great deal, made many friends, and got a small taste of Hollywood. Thanks to help from MGM, Schlumberger, the faculty, and of course the students, this was a project for the history books!

Jennifer Young BS '99, MS '03
: As an undergraduate, the late nights with my EE classmates over homework and preparing for exams. I really can't forget the many people who helped me along the way.

Later as a graduate, the wonderful interactions that I had with my advisor and lab mates over homework, exams and antenna research. I truly learned so much more from them and their experience.

Shawn Yang BS '99, MS '01: My school life was suffering, but worthy in return. I miss the SEAS, miss UCLA, and miss all of you guys. I think all of us should stay connected and build up a consolidated engineering alumni network.
