Alumni Academic Appointments

During the last year, eight of our alumni were appointed to academic positions at universities around the world.

Dr. Hsiang-Feng (Fred) Chi (PhD '99) has been appointed an assistant professor of Electrical Engineering at the National Chia-Tung University in Taiwan, considered one of the best universities in Taiwan. Chi's advisor at UCLA was Professor Abeer Alwan.

Dr. Kerop Janoyan (PhD '01) was appointed an assistant professor at Clarkson University's Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering. Janoyan's advisors at UCLA were Professors John Wallace and Jonathan Stewart.

Dr. Ryan Kastner (PhD '02) will be an assistant professor at the University of California, Santa Barbara's Electrical and Computer Engineering Department beginning this fall. Kastner's advisor at UCLA was Professor Majid Sarrafzadeh.

Dr. Haeng-Ki Lee (PhD '98) was appointed an assistant professor in the Department of Civil, Architectural and Environmental Engineering at the University of Miami. Lee's advisor at UCLA was Professor J. Woody Ju.

Dr. Sung Lim (PhD '00) joined the Georgia Institute of Technology School of Electrical and Computer Engineering as an assistant professor. He is also the director of the Georgia Tech Computer Aided Design Laboratory in the School. Lim's advisor at UCLA was Professor Jason Cong.

Dr. Neil Morley (PhD '94) is a new adjunct professor in UCLA's Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering Department. Morley's advisor at UCLA was Professor Mohamed A.Abdou.

Dr. Richard Parnas (PhD '90) joined the University of Connecticut as an associate professor in the Chemical Engineering Department. Parnas' advisor at UCLA was Professor Yoram Cohen.

Dr. Ankur Srivastava (PhD '02) will be joining the University of Maryland in the Electrical and Computer Engineering Department as an assistant professor this fall. Srivastava's advisor at UCLA was Professor Majid Sarrafzadeh.
