New Director of Media and Public Information Joins School

Director of Media and Public Information Melissa Abraham.

The new Director of Media and Public Information, Melissa Abraham, joined the UCLA Henry Samueli School of Engineering and Applied Science in February 2005. She brings more than 12 years of experience in the field to the position.

Abraham most recently served as Manager of Media Relations at Loyola Marymount University, where she was responsible for developing a comprehensive media strategy, providing strategic counsel, and generating publicity for the entire institution. During her tenure at LMU, she notably increased media coverage for the university and its faculty with innovative and proactive media initiatives.

She also has served as senior account manager at Denmead Marketing, an international publicity and marketing agency, and as publicist for the critically-lauded Chicago Shakespeare Theater on Chicago’s Navy Pier.

Abraham will be responsible for all media and public information activities for UCLA Engineering.
