has been appointed vice president engineering of IP Products and
Solutions at LSI Logic Corporation.
Henry Samueli BS ’75,
MS ’76, PhD ’80, co-founder of Broadcom Corporation, was named one
of the “most powerful people in Southern California” by The
Los Angeles Times. He was ranked seventh and was the youngest
person in the top 10.
Bahram Ghaderi MS ’78,
Eng ’80, PhD ’81 has been promoted to vice president of engineering
and product development at EXAR Corporation.
Joanne M. Maguire MS
’78 was named executive vice president of Lockheed Martin Space
Systems and will be responsible for all business operations and
activities of the corporation’s $7 billion unit.

named one of the “most powerful people in Southern California” by

has been appointed as president and CEO of D2Audio Inc., an audio
semiconductor company headquartered in Austin,TX.

MS ’84, founder of Polysun, Inc., has joined Konarka Technologies,
Inc. as director of organic electronic printing technology.

has been promoted to vice president of marketing for interface products

Rex Black BS ’90 has
completed his fourth book, Software Testing Foundation,
with three coauthors, to be published in October. In addition, his
third book, Effective and Efficient Software Testing, will
be published in Japanese by Nikkei BP.

’90, co-founder and CEO of Sling Media, was named one of Business
2.0’s 50 People Who Matter Now for “enabling people to remotely
watch programming streamed from their home TVs.”
Michael Morhaime BS
’90, co-founder and president of Blizzard Entertainment, was named
one of Business 2.0’s 50 People Who Matter Now for creating
the gaming phenomenon, World of Warcraft.

MS ’97, PhD ’01 has been named director of the Purdue University-Calumet
Water Institute.
Raymond J. Toal PhD
’93 received the 2006 Loyola Marymount University President’s Fritz
B. Burns Distinguished Teaching Award. Toal, a professor of computer
science, has been teaching at Loyola Marymount since 1986.

’96 has been promoted to the position of vice president, corporate
development at ORFID Corporation.
Michael Jensen PhD
’94 has been named chairman of the department of electrical and
computer engineering at Brigham Young University. He holds the Newman
and Zeneth Ward Endowed Chair in Electrical Engineering.
Christopher Cadou PhD
’96 has received tenure and a promotion to associate professor of
aerospace engineering at the University of Maryland.
Mason Peck MS ’99,
PhD ’01, an assistant professor of mechanical and aerospace engineering
at Cornell University, received one of only 11 grants given this
year by the NASA Institute for Advanced Concepts.

PhD ’01 has been appointed to the Robert G. and Mary G. Lane Early
Career Chair in the Department of Biomedical Engineering at USC.
