The expanded Spring 2002 issue has articles on smart materials, embedded networked sensor systems, a new bio-NEMS fabrication course series, changes to UCLA's Office of Intellectual Property, biomedical research, and a profile of Interim Dean Vijay K. Dhir.

 

The Fall 2001 issue highlights the work Professor Stefano Soatto's group is doing on computer systems with visual capabilities, as well as ESUC's new mentoring program, Biomedical Engineering's new co-chair, and priorities in the Civil & Environmental Engineering Department.

 

 

The Spring 2001 issue includes a farewell letter from outgoing Dean Frank Wazzan, highlight articles on the newly established California NanoSystems Institute at UCLA and the iMash nomadic health-care system, and a profile of the SWE Alumnae Advisory Committee.
