Resources for Faculty & Staff
The Henry Samueli School of Engineering and Applied Science offers a variety of school-wide services in addition to what is provided at the local department level in order to facilitate the research and administrative needs of HSSEAS faculty, researchers, and staff.
Academic Personnel: this office supports a broad scope of activities for academic and apprentice personnel employment along with administrative support to the Dean.
Center for Excellence in Engineering and Diversity: committed to the development, recruitment, retention, and graduation of underrepresented engineering and computing students by working with a community of partners to ensure equity and parity in the K-20 pathways that lead to engineering and computing degrees.
Dean's Office and Appointments: responsible for overseeing the business of the School.
Emergency Information: the safety of all our faculty, staff, students and visitors is extremely important. This site provides up-to-date guidelines and policies for ensuring your safety.
Institute for Technology Advancement (ITA): the institute identifies and influences early stage, high-value research at UCLA while facilitating further development and transition to industry. Start-up funding for the institute was donated by the Henry and Susan Samueli Foundation. ITA's off-campus headquarters space is being provided by Abraxis BioScience, Inc. and its CEO, Dr. Patrick Soon-Shiong.
Master of Science Online Engineering Program: designed for the working professional, this program provides the same high quality engineering education at the Master of Science level that is available to our on campus students.
SEASnet Computing Facility: the School's computing facility provides the instructional computing support needed for all HSSEAS courses, and for the staff supporting instruction. The School's networking infrastructure is also maintained by this facility. Some additional computing support is available for a fee.
Science & Engineering Library: collections and services support the research and teaching programs of engineering, and some departments of the Physical Sciences Division, College of Letters and Science, and related centers.
Academic and Student Affairs
Office of Academic and Student Affairs (OASA): offers counseling and advising services including guidance with policies and procedures, advice on curriculum requirements, identification of resources for tutoring and study skill improvement, and the review of petitions. OASA also serves as a gateway to a myriad of campus resources, assisting any engineering undergraduate student with assistance with their concern. OASA supports engineering students in a variety of ways throughout their UCLA experience, beginning before admission and continuing until degree completion and commencement.

Research and Physical Resources
Building Services: provides miscellaneous building services, such as security and seismic anchoring, equipment and furniture moving, some plumbing and electrical work, cleaning of off-master rooms, etc. Some services are fee based.
Logistics and Materiel Management: a variety of services offered at the School level, including mail and messenger services, support for School-wide student organizations, furniture and equipment disposal, use of School resources, etc.
Research Laboratory Safety: detailed information on research laboratory safety, HSSEAS and University policies, and Principal Investigator responsibilities.
Research and Development Shops: fabrication assistance for research and course support, student shop services, and a tool crib for purchasing tools and hardware for projects. This department is also responsible for shipping and receiving from the School's loading dock.
Room Audit Request Form: Requests for square footage changes to building rooms.
