Getting from LAX to Westwood/UCLA

Los Angeles International Airport is about 12 miles from the UCLA campus and is the closest airport to UCLA. Travelers between UCLA and LAX have many options.

Shuttle services operate continuously. To catch a shuttle, go to the islands on the outer lanes of traffic on the arrivals level. Super Shuttle is one of the larger companies with longer hours and grater frequency of service than other shuttles.

Fly Away Buses provide daily nonstop bus service — one-way and roundtrip — between Westwood and LAX. The stop is next to UCLA Parking Structure 32 on Kinross Avenue, two blocks north of Wilshire Blvd., just west of Gayley Ave. Buses depart every 30 minutes on the hour and half-hour from Westwood and LAX (both directions simultaneously) between 5 a.m. - 1 a.m., seven days a week and the cost is $10 each way.

Taxis can be picked up at curbside (inside lanes), right outside baggage claim. The cost to UCLA from LAX is about $35.

Buses are the most inexpensive option for transportation from LAX to UCLA/Westwood area, although the least desirable after a long flight! The bus takes about one hour to get from LAX to Westwood. To take the bus, you need to take the LAX Airport Shuttle bus to the Transit Center, and there catch the Number 3 Big Blue Bus. That will go all the way to UCLA. Cost for entire trip - only $1! We do not recommend this for students staying at UCLA housing, because the bus stop is far from the check-in center.
